A DARWIN is an investable, independently risk-managed index that mirrors your trading. It enters the market whenever you place an order, but the risk is standardised by Darwinex Zero’s Risk Engine.

The Risk Engine keeps your DARWIN risk consistent – if your strategy is more volatile than the target, it adjusts to a comparable level (3.25–6.5% target monthly VaR, similar to the S&P 500). This allows every DARWIN to be compared fairly.

It’s a way to showcase your trading skill and build a credible track record that investors can trust. But don’t worry, it only affects your DARWIN – you still trade freely. 

A DARWIN replicates the trades you open and close in your signal account across different assets. But it’s not an exact copy – the Risk Engine standardises risk across all DARWINs (3.25–6.5% target monthly VaR) and independently determines the size of each trade.

Because of this layer of risk management, your DARWIN’s results may differ from your signal account. Your actual trades stay exactly as you placed them, while your DARWIN reflects a consistent, investable risk profile. The Risk Engine only adjusts the DARWIN – you still trade freely.

Here’s how it works:

DarwinIA allocations – earned through performance, month after month. SILVER allocations are maintained over 3 months, while GOLD allocations are maintained for 6 months. When DARWINs reach GOLD, they are opened to investor capital, even if they go back to SILVER at any point.

Permanent Allocations - purchased by you, they allocate virtual capital to your strategy permanently. No expiry. No fine print. 

Booster allocations – Purchased by you to boost your strategy at key moments. Available in different types and durations. Virtual capital.

Investor Capital: Capital allocated to your DARWIN when an investor invests real money in your strategy.
